“I just thought I got some bad milk. That was it.”

Following his recent heart attack, Kevin Smith has reassured fans he’s feeling much better now and will be undergoing a massive lifestyle change.

Smith shared what transpired on Sunday night via a Facebook video, revealing he didn’t realize he was experiencing a heart attack after a stand-up show.

“I started feeling nauseous, and I tried to lay down on the floor, and when I was laying down on the floor, I wound up getting ill, like threw up but mostly bile,” Smith said. “I just thought I got some bad milk. That was it. I started feeling pressure on my chest, but not like, ‘There’s an elephant on my chest,’ I just couldn’t catch my breath. Honestly, I was never really in pain.”

Smith wasn’t convinced this was indeed a heart attack due to his young age and the lack of pain. The filmmaker also touched on his family’s history with heart problems, revealing his father passed away at age 67 from a heart attack and is mother has two stents in her arteries in her heart. “Honestly, I thought I was mucus-y because I had two joints earlier in the day,” Smith said.

As Smith shared on Monday, if the doctors hadn’t put a stent in his left anterior descending (LAD) artery, he would’ve died. Smith will now be making regular visits to the cardiologist to go with his lifestyle change.

One of Smith’s upcoming projects is a new Jay and Silent Bob film, announced last year.
