Spring has sprung.
Right now on the Microsoft Store you can save as much as 67% on Xbox games. The sale is pretty huge, actually, and has a ton of games you’d actually want to play, as well as some head scratchers that might be worth checking out at a reduced price. You can also save a few percentage points more if you’re an Xbox Live Gold subscriber.
Not only are their individual games on sale, there are also digital bundles and franchise collections, so if you wanted to grab 3 Assassin’s Creed games in one fell swoop, you can do so right now and save your hard earned dollars.
Not an Xbox Live Gold subscriber or have an inactive account? Grab yourself a 3 month subscription code for $10 and it will probably pay for itself in this sale alone, since Gold members get steeper discounts. It’s worth it if you plan to pick up more than one of these sale items.
Call of Duty: WWII – $44.99 with Gold
The latest entry in the Call of Duty franchise takes the series back to its World War 2 roots, and does so extremely well.
Assassin’s Creed Origins – $35.99 with Gold
Origins is a massive game, with so much to do and see, but maybe the coolest part is the discovery mode, where you don’t fight or jump from impossible heights. Instead you explore a painstakingly recreated digital version of Egypt that’s as historically accurate as possible without a time machine.
Forza 7 Ultimate – 40% Off
I really, really love racing games, and Forza 7 Motorsport has taken the lead position in the world of racing sims from the previous leader Gran Turismo. That’s a matter of opinion, of course, but I think you’ll agree with me if you look into your heart.
BioShock: The Collection – $19.80 with Gold
The BioShock series is one of the most celebrated in all of gaming, and for good reason: it’s amazing. The first game in particular still holds up extremely well.
Borderlands: The Handsome Collection – $19.80 with Gold
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare – Digital Legacy Edition – $47.99 with Gold
On the complete opposite side of the Call of Duty spectrum from WWII are Infinite Warfare and the Modern Warfare remaster. As awesome as Modern Warfare still is, don’t sleep on Infinite Warfare.
Dark Souls is a real hit-or-miss franchise for some people. There’s no question it’s absolutely
Dead Rising 4 Deluxe Edition – $30.00 with Gold
This franchise is so ridiculous, and loves reveling in its own ridiculousness so much, that if you haven’t picked any of the games up, you’re really doing yourself a disservice.
Dishonored 2 – $20.00 with Gold
I’m going to come right out and admit it: I own Dishonored 2 and I haven’t gotten around to playing it. It’s part of my pile of shame. Don’t let yourself become overwhelmed with shame.
DOOM – $20.09 with Gold
This is one of my favorite first-person shooters of the last… ever, maybe? It’s gloriously brutal, the soundtrack is pure metal, and it’s so fast paced and fun I needed to take a break between levels to catch my breath.
Fallout 4 – $15.00 with Gold
I have a lot of hours into Fallout 4. I don’t want to admit how many, because it’s kind of embarrassing, especially when you consider I spent almost all those hours just doing side quests and exploring Boston instead of doing the story missions.
If you like being tested by absolutely punishing gameplay wrapped in a gorgeous hand-drawn wrapper, Cuphead is just what you need. Everything about this game is so well crafted, it hardly seems possible.
Battlefield 1 & Titanfall 2 Ultimate Bundle – $32.00 with Gold
This is a two-for-one deal with two incredible games with fantastic story modes, as well as robust multiplayer elements. Please, everyone play more Titanfall so we can always have new Titanfall games in the works.
For Honor Deluxe Edition – $21.00 with Gold
Here’s another game with a great and vibrant online community. You can get it on sale now and battle it out for supremacy.
Star Wars Battlefront II – $24.00 with Gold
Battlefront was great, but without a story mode, it felt like it didn’t give a full experience. Well, someone at EA was listening, so they put a great story mode onto the already excellent multiplayer.
The Witcher 3 Complete Edition – $20.00 with Gold
This is probably the best bargain in the whole sale, strictly from a time standpoint. There is just so much content here, and it’s so good, that getting it on sale is worth it even if you don’t have the time right now to get into it. Which reminds me, I need to get back into this game.
