Season 12 was originally presumed to be the show’s last run.
CBS wants The Big Bang Theory to continue past Season 12.
Deadline reports CBS is hopeful the hit series won’t end with the twelfth season, which was presumed to be the show’s last. Earlier this year, The Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki revealed the cast and crew felt Season 12 would be the best time to wrap up the hit comedy show.
However, it seems the recent Season 11 finale preformed quite well, with The Big Bang Theory showing no signs of slowing down.
“As long as Chuck and his team have stories to tell, we will take the show for as long as they want to go,” Kelly Kahl said, CBS entertainment president. “We can take a few more seasons.”
The current two-year deals for the cast, which end after Season 12, would have to be renewed, of course, which could lead to some complications in the renewal process. Currently, the series’ original quintet are reportedly making $1 million per episode and are the highest-paid actors on TV.
