Will the dreaded video game curse strike again?
Deadpool 2 director David Leitch shares how he plans to combat the “video game movie curse” in his upcoming adaptation of The Division.
Back in April, it was announced that Leitch would be taking over directorial duties from Stephen Gaghan, who was previously set to helm the film. Veteran actors Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal will star in the leading roles.
In a recent interview with IGN, Leitch told us how important character development will be in breaking the video game curse that seems to plague so many films. For the full interview and more on what Leitch has in store for The Division, check out the video below:
According to Variety, The Division will begin filming after the Fast and Furious spin-off movie starring Dwayne Johnson wraps production. Leitch will be directing the spin-off, which is scheduled to hit theaters on July 26, 2019.
Do you think Leitch can break the video game movie curse with The Division? Let us know in the comments. Currently, David Leitch is in full Deadpool 2 mode with the film hitting theaters this weekend.
