Could she be the Hellfire Club’s Black Queen?
Fox’s The Gifted has added an Empire alum to its Season 2 cast. Grace Byers has been cast in a villainous role in the X-Men spinoff series.
According to Marvel, Byers will play the character of Reeva, who is described as a “smart, charming, authoritative, elegant, beautiful woman who is ruthless in her efforts to fight for her people. She leads an elite band of followers and has a soft spot for her new recruits, but is still capable of extreme violence in defense of her vision.”
Reeva will be joining forces with Polaris (Emma Dumont), Andy Strucker (Percy Hynes White) and the Frost sisters (Skyler Samuels), who split from the Mutant Underground at the end of the dramatic Season 1 finale. They will be part of the new Hellfire Club’s “Inner Circle.”
Reeva could actually be Marvel Comics character Reeva Payge, who is also known as the Hellfire Club’s Black Queen. Her powers include generating a high note (which is too high for a human’s hearing) from her vocal cords that directly affects the brain and causes dizziness and hallucinations.
The Gifted returns for a second season in the fall.
