Arthur Curry, Mera, and Queen Atlanna assemble for EW cover.
The latest issue of Entertainment Weekly features a cover story on Aquaman, including our first look at Nicole Kidman as Arthur Curry’s mother, Queen Atlanna.
The EW cover below also features new images of Jason Momoa as the title character and Amber Heard as Mera:
Meanwhile, EW also has this exclusive first photo of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, one of two villains featured in the DC film. In the comics, the character’s real name is David Hyde but it’s been changed to David Kane for the big screen.
“He’s part mercenary but full-time pirate who in his suit will look like some crazy alien from outer space,” Aquaman director James Wan said. “Black Manta is a really interesting character who is somehow factored into this story but our main story is about Jason and Patrick [Wilson, who plays Ocean Master].”
Expect more details on Aquaman to be revealed over the next few days. The James Wan-directed movie’s trailer is also expected to be revealed soon.
In the meantime, check out our explainer piece on Aquaman movie villain Ocean Master, learn some plot details from director James Wan, and read up on the footage that was shown at CinemaCon.
