Studio MDHR’s cup runneth over.

Studio MDHR has announced that Cuphead has gone triple platinum, meaning over three million copies have been sold.

Cuphead’s sales have topped three million since the game’s launch in September, 2017, the developer announced this week. The Microsoft exclusive title hit one million copies sold just two weeks after release, and doubled that by December.

To celebrate the milestone, Cuphead is enjoying a 20% discount on Steam and Xbox until tomorrow, and Studio MDHR has teased “some extra-special giveaways” over the next few days, that will be announced on its Twitter and Facebook page.

The run & gun game is known for its notorious difficulty, which is part of its “homage to the older era,” according to lead game director Jared Moldenhauer.

Moldenhauer is one half of the sibling duo that created the game, and you can watch him and his brother, Chad Moldenhauer, take on Cuphead’s bosses for your entertainment right here.

A DLC pack, ‘The Delicious Last Course’ is coming next year, and the pair have confirmed that we have’t seen the last of the iconic cup-headed protagonist of the game, with Jared telling IGN that Cuphead is “guaranteed” to return.
