A new director has not been announced.

Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, two veteran Bond screenwriters, have been tapped for Bond 25 following director Danny Boyle’s departure from the project.

According to Deadline, Purvis and Wade wrote a treatment — an outline of a screenplay — and the treatment has been approved.

Purvis and Wade have worked on every Bond film since 1999’s The World Is Not Enough, starring Pierce Brosnan. Most recently, Purvis and Wade co-wrote the screenplay for SPECTRE. MGM, the film’s distributor, has not commented.

Earlier this week, Wonder Woman actor Saïd Taghmaoui revealed he had been cast as the villain in Bond 25 when Boyle was attached. Since Boyle left over creative differences, Taghmaoui’s fate is up in the air.

The franchise is reportedly eyeing S.J. Clarkson for directing duties. If chosen, Clarkson would be the Bond franchise’s first female director. American Animals’ Bart Layton and White Boy Rick’s Yann Demange are also reportedly in the running for the job.
